On Friday 17th November the Waverley 70th Anniversary Grand Draw 2017 was made at the Scottish Branch meeting. The winning tickets were drawn by Stuart Craig who was our speaker for the evening.
During her 2017 sailing season, 6,713 Grand Draw tickets were sold aboard Waverley, 719 of which were sold during her Thames sailings. Take up was rather less than in recent years, partly as the Branch’s chief seller Derek Brown had to retire in early July owing to ill health, and partly as a result of the number of cancelled and altered sailings during the season. As before, all of the money raised by these sales will go direct to Waverley. In addition 597 tickets have been sold by post to Branch members, and these proceeds will help to defray the cost of running the draw and providing the cash prizes. Our sincere thanks go to Ken Darroch who sold most of the tickets on the Clyde, and to all who supported the draw.
